Taylor O. Miller

A co-founder of Slamdance Unstoppable, presented by HULU, Miller spent the last year working on inclusion of the disability community in filmmaking. Miller joined Slamdance Film Festival in 2010 and is now the Festival Manager for Slamdance Unstoppable and Slamdance Miami.

Ms. Miller has been passionate about storytelling through photography, film, and writing since she was a child. Raised in Kentucky, she spent many summers on the porch with her grandparents, listening to their stories about her family and our world. She immersed herself into photography at 14 years old and graduated with honors from The University of Redlands’ Johnston Center for Integrative Studies with a double major in Documentary Work and Creative Writing. Miller received her MA in Communications from The European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.

Ms. Miller loves life as a documentarian wether she is photographing women and children on the islands of Micronesia for the United Nations or filming humpback whales off the coast of the Dominican Republic. Her work includes directing, producing, and cinematography for short films, features, documentaries, and music videos. At 24 she wrote and directed DEBRIS, a short film that premiered at the New York International Independent Film Festival. She traveled to India to shoot and star in PinkCity, the feature film by director Nick Gaglia. Miller spent 2.5 years as the Director of Photography with Harbor Heights Entertainment filming a docu-series on the city of Detroit. Her work on the series led to an invitation to speak at Google about THIS IS DETROIT which will be released in 2021.

Her creative non fiction essay, Wrong Turn Right Life, is published in SNAPSHOT 50, an anthology of essays commemorating the 50th anniversary of The Johnston Center at The University of Redlands.
